A five-person accounting firm and a county of eight thousand residents don't show up on a national consulting firm's sales pipeline. We built a practice specifically for the clients in between — real expertise, without the enterprise overhead.
Advisory Update Hub started with a simple observation: the organizations that need good technology guidance the most are often the ones the big firms have the least incentive to serve. So they get whatever a generalist vendor happens to be selling that year — or they go without, until something breaks.
We built this practice to be the option in between. Not a bigger version of a break-fix IT shop, and not a scaled-down version of a national consultancy — a firm that's actually built around small budgets, small teams, and the specific realities of running technology for a small business or a small jurisdiction.
Today that means working with retailers, clinics, and professional services firms on one side, and county IT departments, small-city governments, and public works agencies on the other. The problems don't always look alike. The constraints usually do.
Who You'll Work With
Before founding Advisory Update Hub in 2017, Daniel spent nine years as the IT director for a rural county government — covering a courthouse, a sheriff's department, and a public works building on a budget that wouldn't have covered a single national-firm site visit. He leads strategy engagements and most government-side projects.
Priya's background is in network security across municipal and small-business environments. She leads cybersecurity assessments and incident-response planning, and writes most of our Threat Watch updates.
We bring in specialists for compliance, grant-writing, and larger cloud migrations as engagements need it — you'll always know who's working on what.
